Wine is born in vineyards
It needs daily work, from pruning to tying it down. It fights against adversities, such as cold during the spring flowering period, summer drought, and parasitic diseases.
It also requires medication, thinning – one of the most delicate steps, because the lower the number of bunches of grapes in each plant, the higher quality is, but thinning them out always gives some sorrow for having first brought them to ripeness with much effort – and determining the best time to pick the grapes, making wine by hand and carrying the grapes to the cellar, where the vinification process starts.
We think we realized a good wine, appreciated on the table in the best tradition of the Tuscan red.
We arranged the technical cards of the vintages in sale for a best knowledge of the characteristics of our organic wine, vinified in traditional way. Grapes are matured in tonneaux (oak strokes) in the inclusive period between the end of the winemaking and the bottling and then sharpened in bottle, giving the fullness of a wine from the intense and very pleasant -drinking.
Because the crisis of the sector our job is getting more difficult. From 2011 we produce a wine of still great quality, in a limited number of bottles, from grapes Sangiovese and Montepulciano, in the share percentage 80 to 20. We have called it “Raro” and it is enjoy the favorable opinion of our clients. From the vintage 2014 the composition is changed, with the substitution of the Montepulciano with the Alicante grape.
